  • ½ cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Barbeque sauce
  • 1 can Piquillo peppers (3 oz drained)
  • ½ Lemon juice, (should be freshly)
  • 1 Asiago cheese focaccia or the plain one can also work
  • 3 Sliced smoked turkey Ham, slice it thin.
  • 3 oz Red onions sliced very thin
  • 3 cups Romaine lettuce thinly

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
  • Mix mayonnaise, lime juice, barbeque sauce, sugar and piquillo pepper and let it set aside in the refrigerator for half an hour.
  • Toast the bread in the oven till it's crispy and warm. Make sure you do not make it too crispy or leave it too soft. It will destroy the taste and texture of the sandwich.
  • Spread the mixed sauces and peppers evenly and on both the pieces of focaccia.
  • Now, add some ham, red onions, and romaine, the lettuce leaf on the bottom slice of the focaccia, and top it up with the other focaccia slice.
  • Serve it with tomato or green sauce drizzled over with balsamic vinaigrette and enjoy your meal.
