1Tri-tip 1/2-inch thickThe type of tri-tip beef you can use for this recipe should be a lean cut from the bottom sirloin. This is probably the best cut of meat to go with if you want that mild beef flavor and texture. Also, it has a fat content of only .81%, which is pretty much ideal for this type of dish.
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).
Make sure it's preheated before roasting your tri-tip beef, as this will help seal in the flavors and make the meat taste even better.
Cover a roasting pan with aluminum foil and place your beef steak in the middle.
Roast it for about 20-25 minutes and check to see if it's done using a fork.
To drain excess fat and oil, take out the tri-tip from the oven and transfer it onto a plate or platter covered with paper towels.
This is especially important if you don't plan on serving your beef with steak sauce or any other kind of dipping sauce.
Notes
Leftovers: If you have any leftovers, wrap them in aluminium foil and store them in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. You can also use this meat cut to make sandwiches or even spaghetti sauce. There are lots of ways to cook tri-tip beef, but the most popular method is grilling. Cooking for between 15-25 minutes will also do depending on how you like your beef done. For example: 1/2-inch thick tri-tip steak usually needs to grill for about 6 to 7 minutes per side. If you don't have an oven or grill at home, then the best way to cook tri-tip is by using a stovetop.
