Ricotta Fig & Honey Bagel bites oven instructions

When you want to impress your guests with your culinary skills or just want a special snack once in a while, these fancy canapés are the go-to treats. Although the combination of ricotta, fig, and maple syrup sounds intriguing, it is an absolute delight for the senses and complements each other perfectly.

Materials

  • 12 Plain mini bagels
  • 6 - 8 tbsp Ricotta
  • 1 tbsp Honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp Black sesame seeds
  • 1 Sliced fig

Instructions

  • A few hours before making the bagel bites, toast the black sesame seeds in a pan for 5 minutes on medium heat without using any oil.
  • Remove it from the heat and set it aside to cool. After it has reached room temperature, combine it with the ricotta and maple syrup.
  • Spread them evenly on each bite-sized bagel and top with thinly sliced figs. If you want to go all out, top them with a slice of Italian ham, such as prosciutto.
  • Bake the bites for 8 minutes at 350ºF in a preheated oven.
  • Your bagels are complete!

Notes

These bagel bites are best when oven-made, because the fig and honey caramelize perfectly, to have a smooth finish. These impressive treats are well worth making.
