Bloomin Fried Chicken Recipe

The popular Outback Steakhouse Bloomin' Onion inspired this dish. The key to this recipe is the buttermilk marinade. The acidity in the buttermilk tenderizes the chicken and gives it a nice flavor. Let's start?

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound Boneless, skinless chicken breast (cut into 1-inch pieces)
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, combine chicken, buttermilk, flour, salt, black pepper, and cayenne. Mix well to coat the chicken.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  • Preheat vegetable oil in a deep fryer to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Add chicken pieces to the hot oil, a few at once.
  • Fry until golden brown and cooked through about 5 minutes.
  • Remove from oil with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  • Serve hot.
