Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Unsalted butter at room temperature (2 sticks)
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 cups Semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy in a large bowl.
  • Beat in eggs, one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to butter mixture, mixing until just blended. Stir in chocolate chips.
  • Place dough on a lightly floured surface and roll into a log about 2 inches in diameter.
  • Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or up to 3 days).
  • Cut dough into 1/2-inch slices and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake cookies until they are golden brown, about 15 minutes.
  • Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes; transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
