1 pound Dry pasta 1/2 cup Olive oil 1/4 cup Chopped onion 4 Cloves of minced garlic 2 tbsp Tomato paste 1/2 teaspoon Sugar 1/4 teaspoon Dried oregano 1/4 teaspoon Dried basil 1/4 teaspoon Salt 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper 1 can Crushed tomatoes (28-ounce) 1/4 cup Chopped fresh basil 1 cup Shredded mozzarella cheese
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Cook pasta according to package instructions.
In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, and cook until softened, about 5 minutes .
Stir in tomato paste, sugar, oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper.
Add crushed tomatoes and simmer for 15 minutes .
Drain pasta and mix with tomato sauce. Stir in fresh basil and mozzarella cheese.
Pour into the prepared baking dish.
Bake in the oven for 20 minutes or until bubbly .
