Valentina Hot Sauce Recipe

You will love this recipe if you're a fan of Valentina hot sauce. It's a crazy good copycat of the real thing and super easy to make. Trust us; once you try this sauce, you'll never return to the store-bought stuff again.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1/2 Onion (diced)
  • 3 Cloves of garlic (minced)
  • 1 Jalapeño pepper (diced)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon Oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 can Diced tomatoes, undrained (14.5 ounces)
  • 1 can Tomato paste (6 ounces)
  • 3 tbsp Honey
  • 3 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Adobo sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Sriracha sauce
  • 1/2 cup Water

Instructions
 

  • Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add the onion and garlic, and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Add the jalapeño pepper and cook for 1 minute.
  • Stir in the cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 1 minute.
  • Add the tomatoes, tomato paste, honey, vinegar, adobo sauce, sriracha sauce, and water.
  • Bring to a boil, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Using an immersion blender, blend the sauce until smooth. Alternatively, you can transfer the sauce to a blender and blend until smooth.
  • Return the sauce to the pan and cook for 5 minutes. Serve hot.
