Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup Sugar (100 grams)
  • 1/4 cup All-purpose flour (25 grams)
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3 tbsp Unsalted butter at room temperature (42 grams)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 Large egg (beaten)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp Cocoa powder (15 grams)
  • 1/4 cup Geavy cream (60 grams)
  • Confectioners' sugar, for dusting

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Butter and flour a 6-cup mold.
  • Sift together the sugar, flour, and salt. In a separate bowl, cream the butter until light. Add the baking powder and mix well.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until smooth. Gradually add the sifted dry ingredients and mix well.
  • Pour half of the batter into the prepared mold. Sprinkle with cocoa powder and pour in the cream. Top with the remaining batter.
  • Bake for about 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the center of the cake. Let cool for a few minutes before inverting onto a serving platter.
  • Dust with confectioners' sugar and serve warm or cold.
