Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Unsalted butter at room temperature (2 sticks)
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 Large eggs at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 cups Semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  • Whisk together flour, baking powder, soda, and salt in another bowl.
  • Gradually add to butter mixture, mixing until just blended. Stir in chocolate chips.
  • Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto a prepared baking sheet. Bake until cookies are golden brown, about 15 minutes.
  • Cool on a baking sheet for 5 minutes; transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.

  • For a fun twist, add 1/2 cup of chopped nuts, dried fruit, or white chocolate chips to the dough.
