Chicken breast

You may cook chicken, or any other meat, on a contact grill. Anything from steaks to fish, light chicken slices to thick beef may be converted into unique meals on a George Foreman Grill.

Furthermore, chicken is one of the easiest meals to prepare, cooks fast, and can be seasoned in a variety of ways. But it doesn’t mean it can’t be delicious.

Many people regard chicken as a monotonous yet easy fast-food alternative for every day. That isn’t always the case, though.

We normally avoid chicken on holidays because we think of it as dull and a necessity, but it, like any T-Bone steak, can be made to taste exquisite.

How long does it take to cook chicken breast on George Foreman Grill

On a George Foreman Grill, the typical cooking time for chicken breast is 5-10 minutes, depending on the thickness of the meat and only after completely preheating the grill.

Cooking times are always calculated for preheated ovens and grills. Although chicken breast is already lean, there is no need to add oil to a contact grill if you wish to avoid it.

Of course, if you add some moderately, it will be even juicier. If you prefer to cook without oil, you may compensate for the excess moisture by adding some fruits and vegetables.

Fresh fruits, such as mango, kiwi, grapefruit, or any other, may be readily grilled on your George Foreman grill.

Cuisine American
Servings 4 People

Equipment

  • George Foreman Grill

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 2 Limes
  • 1 tbsp Sea salt
  • A pinch of parsley
  • ½ tbsp Ginger
  • 4 Thick slices of boneless chicken breast

Instructions

  • Make a baste for the meat by mixing the olive oil, soy sauce, salt, parsley, ginger.
  • Cut some slits in your chicken breast to help them cook thoroughly and mark where you will slice them later.
  • Cut the lime into slices. Place the limes on your preheated 425º grills and put your chicken breasts on the limes.
  • With a pastry brush, baste the chicken in your spicy-oily sauce generously, and repeat it in the mid of the cooking time.
  • Grill the slices for 4 minutes on each side. After it’s done cooking, let it rest for another 10 minutes.
  • You can serve it with fruit salsa, mango salads, mashed potatoes, or green salad.
  • You can also add some garlic powder or sesame seed or sesame oil for a bolder flavor.

Notes

If you don't like limes, try a grilling palette. Wet the wood and place it on the hot grill, then add the meat and let it smoke, and cook evenly for a little longer. Grill it on high heat directly on the grill for the last 3 minutes of cooking time for a nice finish.

The best chicken cooking time and temperatures

Cooking times for chicken vary between 5 and 10 minutes, depending on thickness, and the temperature should be set to 425°F.

It’s also worth noting that for any contact grill, boneless meats are preferable. You can grill without losing your contact grill if you prefer, for example, a T-bone steak, but bones change cooking times, and for even cooking on a contact grill, it’s best to use boneless meats.

Also, keep in mind that chicken prefers medium to low heat, so avoid cooking at high temperatures to avoid drying out. If you use skinned chicken, always begin cooking it skin down so that it can brown and crisp properly.

Best seasonings for chicken breast

Chicken seasonings

We love chicken because it pairs well with practically everything you can imagine.

Some of my favorite pairings are:

  • Orange;
  • Nutmeg;
  • Cumin;
  • Garlic;
  • Balsamic vinegar;
  • Brown sugar;
  • Anise seeds.

Depending on how you season and cook it, chicken can serve a classic or exotic meal. Grill it on fruits, serve it on a salad bed or as a grilled chicken sandwich, in tacos, with traditional sides like oven-baked potatoes, and so much more.

It’s also mild and blends well with strong flavors, so if you like a complex aroma, use it to elevate your chicken.

Chicken is regularly used in almost every traditional cuisine around the world, so you can make a variety of traditional foods from all cultures using only chicken breast.

Can I also cook chicken wings or thighs?

Chicken wings

Because the top grilling plate does not cover the meat flatly as it does with boneless meats, George Foreman grills and generally contact grills are for boneless meats, but that doesn’t mean you can’t prepare them at all; you just have to do it slightly differently.

If you’re making wings or boned chicken thighs, you won’t be able to use the upper plate of the grill, so they’ll take longer to cook, which tends to dry out the meat.

If you prefer boneless chicken thighs, they are also available.

Bone usually adds a moisty extra flavor to the meats, if you grill it on the down plate of your grill, flipping through each side, they can be absolutely delicious on a George Foreman grill.

Chicken thighs will take around 8-12 minutes, and wings 10-12 minutes to grill. Thighs also tend to be juicier when grilled than breasts, so many chefs prefer them.

Some misconceptions pertain when it comes to cooking on contact grills. You absolutely can use oils if you like, including oil sprays and you don’t have to cook everything separately. You can grill the meat and sides together, they will infuse each other with a blending aroma.

But some advice is worth considering, such as never to use metal tools on any contact grill, neither for cooking or cleaning.

Try to avoid the harder, rubbier sponges when you clean them, but do clean them after each cooking session. Never just leave food in there, because harmful bacteria can easily pertain in certain areas, and it will be harder to clean it later.

The most popular dishes on a grill are burgers, steaks, salmon, and boneless chicken breasts. Although chicken is one of the simplest meals to make, it’s easy to dry it out and make it unenjoyable.

You can avoid this by marinating it for at least an hour before cooking and cutting it into neat and smaller slices beforehand.

Another tip is to leave the skin on the chicken to keep it moist and flavorful. Make the skin a nice crisp brown texture. You can also taste the difference between farmed and free-range chicken; the latter tastes far superior.
